FT Coronavirus Pulse Survey: Wave 5

SYNOPSIS

The FT Coronavirus Pulse Survey Wave 5 has released. The results were fielded from 29 May to 3 June 2020 and contain a deeper view into personal investment sentiments, financial brands and industries that will emerge strongest. 

  • 64% of personal investors are paying more attention to their portfolio and wealth. 56% are looking for more independent information. 52% have reevaluated their investment strategy. 
  • 37% are very concerned about their investments in the short term (<12 months), and this drops to 15% longer term (3 yrs+). 
  • Reasons for being "very concerned" about their investments are: economic uncertainty (35%), virus/pandemic uncertainty (25%), concern for personal investments/retirement/pension funds (20%) and market volatility (19%).
  • 70% mentioned financial institutions that have been good at communicating with them during this crisis.    

We will continue conducting regular surveys of the FT’s reader panel to understand how the world’s business leaders perceive the crisis, the outlook for recovery and how they wish brands to communicate with them.
